The sixth day of spring is Zarathushtra's birthday. Zarathushtra was born more than 3500 years ago. He was the first monotheist. This means he was the first person who believed in one God. He encouraged his people to worship Ahura Mazda, the Wise Lord.

Zarathushtra thought a lot about life, people, and how he could make the world a better place. Zarathushtra taught his people to use their mind in a good way. He invited all people to be righteous and to follow good thoughts, good words, and good deeds to make the world a peaceful, happy place for everyone.

In honor of his birthday, we have this simple prayer for you to learn. This prayer is the simplified version of the Farvardin Yasht:

"We worship Zarathushtra as our leader. Among all people, he is the best of the good-ruling. Among all people, he is the most worthy of worship and the most worthy of admiration. Among all people, he is the most worthy of our pleasure and the most worthy of our praises because he is the best righteous. He is the most glorious."
