Sadeh is an ancient festival which goes back to hundred of years ago, and it celebrates the discovery of fire by King Houshang.
The ancient Zoroastrians celebrated this festival by going to desert and gathering thorns and firewood. Then they made a huge bonfire by a river or a fire temple to celebrate the coming of spring and warm weather.
Today Zoroastrians make bonfires around their homes or on the roofs and celebrate Sadeh with song, dance and prayers.
